About Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique. It is often administered by gently laying hands in different positions on a client. The practitioner who has been attuned to the reiki symbols sets an intention to allow the flow of reiki, which is all that is needed. Reiki is described as a Universal energy similar to Ki, or the human life force that makes us alive in our body. It is different from Ki in that it never needs replenishing, and it does not need to be directed by the practitioner.

Recipients of reiki often feel a warmth coming from the practioner's hands, but not always. It is very common to feel a deep sense of relaxation, even sleepiness during a treatment. Clients usually experience a sense of well-being and calm during and after receiving reiki.

Kanji for Reiki
People have reported all kinds of positive and healing benefits from reiki. I invite you to read the inspiring stories available on www.reiki.org to learn what others have experienced. Regarding physical illness, reiki can complement traditional medical protocols. In fact, reiki is even being embraced and administered in some hospitals in this country. (To read more, please visit The Int'l Center for Reiki Training: Reiki for Doctors and Nurses.)

Reiki is not something that is easy for most of us to understand with logic, and it is not taught in the traditional sense. The best way to learn about reiki and whether it is for you is to experience it for yourself.

Reiki practitioners are “attuned” by a reiki master. (“Master” in this case is merely a reiki practitioner who has received the necessary master attunements and has learned the process for attuning others.)

I teach Reiki I and Reiki II, which give you the attunements necessary to use reiki on yourself and others.

Reiki Principles:

  • Just for today, I will not worry.
  • Just for today, I will not be angry.
  • Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
  • Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
